Dedicated to the sacred mission of safe motherhood and newborn care. The Department of Obstetric and Gynecological (OBG) Nursing at Devsthali Vidyapeeth trains nursing professionals in comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and gynecological clinical care. Through high-fidelity maternal simulation and clinical labor room training, we empower students to lead with clinical precision and compassionate care.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Within a few years of graduation, our Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing specialists will achieve the following milestones:
- PEO-1 (Clinical Leadership): Function as specialist nurse midwives and clinical supervisors in maternity hospitals, labor suites, and neonatal intensive care units (NICU).
- PEO-2 (Maternal Health Innovation): Implement innovative, evidence-based practices in high-risk pregnancy management and gynecological nursing care.
- PEO-3 (Public Health Impact): Contribute actively to national maternal-child health programs and reproductive health policy-making.

On successful completion of this specialization, students will be fully equipped to:
- PSO-1: Deliver comprehensive, independent midwifery care during antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal periods for both routine and high-risk pregnancies.
- PSO-2: Demonstrate mastery in managing obstetric emergencies, neonatal resuscitation, and gynecological surgical nursing care.
- PSO-3: Provide expert family planning counseling, adolescent reproductive health guidance, and menopausal care services.

Maternal Sciences
Apply advanced knowledge of embryology, maternal physiology, and reproductive pharmacology in bedside care.
Emergency Obstetrics
Recognize and manage life-threatening obstetric conditions like eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), and fetal distress.
Neonatal Care Command
Execute immediate newborn resuscitation, APGAR scoring, and specialized care for low-birth-weight infants.
Empathetic Counseling
Provide sensitive counseling on lactation management, contraception, and psychological support during perinatal loss.
Advanced Simulators & Maternity Labs
- Advanced OBG Simulation Lab: Equipped with interactive birth simulators, pelvimetry models, fetal dopplers, and NST machines.
- Simulated Delivery Suite: A fully functional labor room environment equipped with resuscitation crash carts, radiant warmers, and delivery beds.
- Clinical Maternity Tie-Ups: Direct clinical rotations in busy maternity wards, labor rooms, operation theaters, and NICUs of partner hospitals.
- Gynecological Diagnostics Hub: Models and equipment for practicing cervical screening, family planning device insertion, and postnatal checkups.
