The Department of Child Health Nursing (Pediatric Nursing) at Devsthali Vidyapeeth trains nursing professionals in specialized infant, child, and adolescent healthcare. Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Within a few years of graduation, our Child Health Nursing alumni will achieve the following milestones:
- PEO-1 (Pediatric Leadership): Excel as pediatric nurse specialists, clinical supervisors, and educators in pediatric ICUs (PICU), neonatal ICUs (NICU), and child health centers.
- PEO-2 (Clinical & Emergency Mastery): Manage acute pediatric medical emergencies, congenital anomalies, and critical infant care with rapid precision.
- PEO-3 (Research & Advocacy): Lead research in pediatric disease prevention, child nutrition programs, and national child welfare initiatives.

On successful completion of this specialization, students will be fully equipped to:
- PSO-1: Perform accurate physical, developmental, and behavioral assessments of newborns, infants, toddlers, and adolescents.
- PSO-2: Command specialized pediatric equipment, neonatal incubators, pediatric ventilators, and intravenous drug dosage systems safely.
- PSO-3: Execute preventive child health services, immunization schedules, and IMNCI (Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness) guidelines.

- NICU & PICU Clinical Postings: Hands-on rotations in multi-specialty partner hospitals for neonatal and pediatric intensive care experience.
- Growth & Nutrition Demonstration Area: Demonstration models and charts for teaching pediatric feeding protocols, weaning practices, and infant care.
